A student may, with the consent of the instructor and the Faculty Dean, drop a course by filling out the prescribed form before three-fourths (3/4) of the semester/term has elapsed, and not later. The registration privilege of a student who drops a course without the approval of the Dean may be curtailed or entirely withdrawn.
If a course is dropped after the middle of the term, the faculty member concerned shall indicate in the prescribed form the class standing of the student at the time of dropping as either Passing or Failing solely for administrative guidance.
The application for dropping is done through the Student Portal. Application period begins at the start of classes and ends a day after the deadline for filing of application for dropping (refer to the academic calendar for deadlines).
The student is required to pay the application for dropping fee of Php 10.00 per unit and upload the proof of payment in the Student Portal. See procedures for payment of fees.
Step 1: Log in to the Student Portal and apply for dropping of courses.
Step 2: Upload the proof of payment to the system.
Step 3: Wait for an email from the DCS Program Support.
Upon successful completion of the application form for dropping, students are required to promptly notify the DCS Program Chair, DCS Program Support, and the FICS Faculty Secretary Support via the designated email addresses provided below. It is essential to employ the same email address utilized during the dropping application process for consistency and efficient communication.
DCS Program Support: dcsprogramsupport@upou.edu.ph
DCS Program Chair: dcspc@upou.edu.ph
Faculty Secretary Support: fics.fsec.support@upou.edu.ph
In case the student has submitted their dropping application beyond the deadline, please inform the Faculty Secretary for approval.
Note: Students who have decided to drop their course(s) are not required to seek permission from or inform the Program Chair and Dean. As long as they have completed the necessary steps by submitting the Dropping Form, it provides sufficient information for the Program Chair and the Dean.
The application for dropping a course typically opens one month after the start of the semester. If the application is still inaccessible on the Student Portal, please contact registration@upou.edu.ph.
