Maximum Residency Rule, also known as MRR, is the number of years a student may enroll in the program. In FICS, here are the following MRR for each program:
BAMS | -- | 8 years |
DCS | -- | 4 years |
MIS | -- | 7 years |
MDC | -- | 7 years |
DCOMM | -- | 10 years |
For the DCS program, a full-time student is recommended to finish the program within two years and its MRR is twice that, leading up to 4 years. This means that a student should graduate within the MRR period or less; otherwise, the student will not be allowed to continue with the program.
A student may appeal to extend the MRR by writing a formal letter to the Dean through their Program Chair, stating valid reasons for the delay and a detailed plan of study (POS) for the remaining terms.
